Программа для каталогизации фото, видео и других форматов, включая Adobe PDF, EPS/AI, InDesign, DWG, Office с возможностью многопользовательского доступа. В Daminion все файлы описываются набором тегов, например "ключевые слова", "категории", "место съемки", "проект", "событие", "рейтинг". Некоторые теги заполняются автоматически в процессе импорта, из метаданных изображений, например "модель камеры", "объектив", "время съемки", "параметры съемки". В отличие от папок, теги не занимают дополнительного места на диске, и одну фотографию можно описать несколькими тегами. Теги могут автоматически синхронизироваться с метаданными файлов (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, MWG), причем теги могут (опционально) сохраняются непосредственно в изображения формата Camera RAW. Имеется серверная версия (Daminion Server) для организации архива изображений с многопользовательским доступом. Доступ к контенту может быть ограничен ролями. Например, пользователи с ролью "Чтец" могут только искать, просматривать и экспортировать файлы, а пользователи с ролью "Жнец" могут добавлять, удалять или редактировать теги и файлы. Ну а пользователь с ролью "На дуде игрец" может выполнять администраторские задачи. Серверная версия поддерживает архивы огромных размеров, до 1-2 млн. фотографий, и позволяет работать с единым каталогом изображений до 20-30 пользователям. В Daminion нет редактора - это "чистый" каталогизатор документов (с фокусом на фотографии). Зато есть удобный "мост" с внешними редакторами, например Photoshop или Illustrator. Ссылки на файлы - относительные, это значит, что папку с каталогом и файлами можно легко перенести на новое место. Чтобы найти нужный снимок или группу снимков достаточно выделить несколько тегов удерживая клавишу Ctrl. Можно выбрать операции И/ИЛИ между значениями одного тега, например найти файлы с ключевыми словами "дом" И "стекло" И "кирпич", снятыми в 2009 ИЛИ 2010 году c рейтингом выше 3 в "Краснодаре" ИЛИ "Сочи"
